Note 1: Introduction to Literature – Any English Literature course is also allowed.
Note 2: Philosophy – Any 10000 level Philosophy course except PHIL 15000, Introduction to Logic.
Note 3: Intense Area 2 and Intense Area 3 – Choose 15 credit hours in two of the following intense areas:
Economics: ECON 25100 and ECON 25200; Plus 3 of the following: ECON 31100, ECON 32200, ECON 35200, ECON 37500 or HIST 37400, ECON
38000, ECON 41900, ECON 43400, ECON 46500 or others as approved by the program advisor.
Government: POL 10100; POL 13000 or POL 14100; and POL 20000; Plus two 30000 level or higher POL courses or others as approved by the program
advisor.
Psychology: POL 12000; and PSY 36100 or PSY 36200; and PSY 33900 or SOC 34000; and PSY 34400 or PSY 35000 or PSY 42800; Plus one 30000
level or higher PSY course.
Sociology: SOC 10000; and SOC 22000; Plus three 30000 level or higher SOC courses.
Note 4: Aesthetics – Choose 1 course from: AD 25500, MUS 25000, ENGL 31900, PHIL 10600, or THTR 20100.
Note 5: History Elective (Non-American) – Any 30000 level History course (HIST 30600, HIST 31600, HIST 32500, HIST 33600, HIST 36500, HIST 37400, HIST 41000
(E X L), HIST 42600, HIST 55300, HIST 56200, HIST 56400, HIST 58400) or any non-American History course as approved by the program advisor.
Note 6: EDCI 35500 – Admission to Gate 2 courses (EDCI 35500) requires application screening by the Department of Teacher Preparation Advisor. Courses marked
with (f) require field observations. Students may not receive more than 2 C’s in the professional education classes.
Note 7: Admission to Gate 3 and beyond requires admission to Teacher Preparation program and passing of state licensure exams.
