FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT APPLE PAY What is Apple Pay? Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service by Apple, Inc. that lets customers use a compatible iPhone to make payments. Bank SNB customers may use their eligible debit card with Apple Pay to “pay on the go” at merchants who accept Visa contactless payments or inside participating merchant apps wherever Visa cards are accepted. Is my phone compatible with Apple Pay*? Apple Pay compatible devices include: ● iPhone 6, 6 Plus, and later ● Apple Watch-compatible devices (iPhone 5 and later models) ● iPad Air 2, iPad Pro and iPad Mini 3 and later (Note: iPhone 5, 5c or 5s cannot use Apple Pay alone, payments may be enabled through an Apple Watch sync.) How can I add my card to Apple Pay? To add a card on a supported iPhone or iPad, go to “Settings,” open “Wallet & Apple Pay,” and select “Add Credit or Debit Card.” On a supported iPhone, running on iOS 8.2 or later, you can also open the Wallet app to add a card. You can choose to add the card you already have on file with iTunes or add new cards by manually entering your card information or taking a picture of your card. You will always need to enter your Security Code and accept Bank SNB’s Terms of Use for Apple Pay each time you add a card to Apple Pay. Apple’s Terms & Conditions also apply. Bank SNB Personal and Business CheckCards are eligible for Apple Pay. Health Savings Accounts (HSA) cards are not eligible for Apple Pay. Once the Bank SNB chip card is sent to you, you will need to update your Bank SNB CheckCard in your Apple Pay wallet due to a new expiration and security code being issued at that time. Does Apple Pay require me to use Bank SNB Mobile Banking? No. Apply Pay is a separate app from Bank SNB’s mobile app. Where can I use Apple Pay? You can use Apple Pay to make payments in stores with supported devices wherever Visa contactless payments are accepted. At the checkout, look for these symbols for acceptance: Contactless Apple Pay You can also use Apple Pay in participating merchant apps with supported devices. Look for the “Buy with Apple Pay” or “Apple Pay” button during your checkout in the app. Visit apple.com/apple-pay for a list of merchants where in-app payments are accepted. How secure is an Apple Pay transaction? Your card in Apple Pay is protected by “Touch ID” and/or your device “Passcode.” For your security, when you make a purchase using Apple Pay, you must either use “Touch ID” or the “Passcode” for your device. All payment information will be encrypted in the Secure Element, a dedicated chip in your device. How can I suspend the ability to make payments or remove Cards from my device? To remove your card from your wallet, select “Remove Card” in the “Wallet & Apple Pay” section of your device “Settings” or on the back of your Card in the Wallet app. You can also visit icloud.com/settings to remove your card or go to ”Find My iPhone” to temporarily suspend or permanently remove the ability to pay with your cards on your devices, including your Apple Watch. What is a Device Account Number? A Device Account Number is created for that card on that device. For your security it is separate and unique to your device and different from your plastic card number. Your Device Account Number is used to make purchases with your card using Apple Pay. How will an Apple Pay transaction appear on my statement? All transactions completed with Apple Pay will appear as “AplPay” on your bank’s monthly statement. How do I obtain a refund for something I purchased with Apple Pay? If you need to make a return for a purchase made with Apple Pay you can receive refunds to your account. The difference, a cashier may ask you to provide the last four digits of your Device Account Number instead of the last four digits on your plastic card. To find the last four digits of your Device Account Number for your card, visit the “Wallet & Apple Pay” section of your device “Settings” or on the back of your card in the Wallet app. How much does Apple Pay cost?
