PROPOSED
MOTOR
FOURTH RACE
RACING CIRCUIT
It is now officially announced that plans have been drawn
up to establish a motor-racing circuit at Aintree.
It is hoped that
this will be the finest in Great Britain, if not the world, so that the
public will have motor racing at Aintree of a standard as pre
dominant as is the Grand National in the steeplechasing world.
The stands and other facilities here will provide a unique
standard of accommodation at motor race meetings, with the entire
track of 3 miles visible to the public, a feature available at no other
motor track.
The plan overleaf shows the situation of the track
in relation to the existing racecourse, from which it will in no
way detract, and the sanction of the Jockey Club and National
Hunt Stewards has been given.
The plan already has the approval
of the Town and Country Planning Authorities and those of
The Lancashire County Council and West Lanes Rural
District
Council and now awaits the necessary building licence.
Motor-
racing will take place at intervals during the summer months on
Saturdays only. Contrary to rumour, there is and never has been
any intention to have Sunday racing.
