Step 2 - Your task is to create 5 scenes that illustrate the above Elements and Principles of Design.
Experiment with various lighting conditions, materials and textures. Choose the best images to
showcase and explain what you are demonstrating. Present your scenes in a PowerPoint presentation.
1. Modify the materials and colors for the shapes: Experiment with materials in the library.
Explore combining different-colored forms and create variations in hue, value, and saturation.
Experiment with combinations of primary and secondary colors.
2. Change the scale of the shapes: Use the different sizes and positions to illustrate scale.
3. Change the arrangement or composition of the shapes: Combining blocks and discovering how
changes in composition create variations in design elements such as texture, negative and
positive space, balance, and line. The geometric forms can be arranged horizontally and
vertically.
4. Save each rendered scene as a final image and create your PowerPoint. You must create a
Powerpoint that has:
i. 2 Marks - A title slide with your name on it.
ii. 5 Marks - Each scene/image (5) on its own slide.
iii. 10 Marks - Text below the image that describes which Element/Principles are
being demonstrated.
iv. Element/Principles may be combined for one image.
v. 5 Marks - Each scene shows different Element/Principles.
