From the Principal Parent Teacher Interviews Thank you to the many parents/carers who have booked their parent teacher interview/ s for Monday, July 18th. If you have yet to make a booking, and would like an appointment with your child’s teacher/s please contact our office; our staff will be happy to assist. Midyear Reports On Thursday of this week midyear reports will be sent home with each child Kinder – Gr 6. These are comprehensive reports which will provide information regarding your child’s progress and areas in need of attention; the reports will be the focus for discussion at the parent teacher interviews to be held on the student free day of July 18th. We ask that you talk to your child/ren about the report/s, praising their successes and working with them in areas for future focus. Assemblies Term 3 & 4 Change of Days A reminder that, as advised last week, our assemblies for Terms 3 and 4 will be moved from Thursdays each week to Tuesdays, still starting at 9:00 AM. End of Term 2 Assembly Gr 5/6 Courtney/Milbourne will be leading our end of term assembly on Thursday at 9:00 AM. Parents/carers and family members are most welcome to join us. School Holidays Our second term finishes this Friday, July 1st. Third term begins for staff on Monday, July 18th and for students on Tuesday, July 19th. Students from Grades 2 – 5 who are currently learning piano outside of school can be offered this opportunity, at no cost to parents. Important - Working with Children Check Are you currently employed in or volunteer at a Tasmanian Government School? If so you need to register for your Working with Vulnerable People Card. Please go to http://www.justice.tas.gov.au/ working_with_children/application to submit an application. You then need to finalise your application by going to Service Tasmania. If you hold a current Good Character check with the DOE, your fee for this card will be waived. All non-teaching employees and volunteers need to be registered by 1st September 2016. There is a delay of several weeks between finalising your application at Service Tasmania and receiving your card, therefore you are strongly encouraged to do this process by 1st July 2016. If you have any queries relating to the check, please contact our school office staff who can answer your questions. Lost Property We have a large amount of lost property items in the office foyer. These items are unnamed and therefore cannot be returned to students. Please remember to label all school items and to re-label if you have purchased second hand items. We will be placing all lost property on a table outside before and after school this Thursday. Any uncollected items will then be given to the second hand uniform pool. School Payments Levy payments and Esk Band payments need to be paid to the office by 30th June 2016 unless you have made an alternative arrangement. Those with outstanding accounts will shortly be receiving further correspondence regarding overdue payments. If you need to make a payment arrangement, please contact Jess Collins, School Business Manager, as we are always happy to work with you. Entertainment Book Reminders Invoices for the Entertainment Book will be sent home today. If you are not purchasing a book please remember to return it to the office as unreturned books will be taken out of any profit made for School Fundraising. Election Day Fundraiser Plates for the Cake Stall will be sent home today. Cakes can then be dropped off on Friday 1st July at Kinder Fullbrook between 8.30-9.00 in the morning and 2.30-3.15 in the afternoon. Parent/Child Playgroup Children from birth to 4 years, every Wednesday in the Kindergarten Rooms 9.00am - 10.30am. In Terms 2 & 3 playgroup is also on Saturday mornings 9.00am-10.30am. There will be no Saturday morning playgroup during the holidays; Playgroup will recommence on 20th July.
