Heavy School Bags
When a year 4 class complained of having heavy
school bags to carry each day, their teacher found
some data on the median weight of a school bag
versus school year. The data comes from a
sample of 1000 from Census at School NZ.
The class measured the weight of their bags, before interval, and found the
median bag weight for the class was 3.8 kg. Their teacher said, the class is
training for year 6! Does this class have unduly heavy school bags? Compare
