Algebra 2 – Extra Credit Assignment
This assignment is optional.
If you want extra credit for work on this assignment you must follow ALL of these

Try ALL of the problems on both the front and the back of this paper.
Do your own work. You may ask Ms. Scher for help, but no one else.
Show all your work on a separate paper or papers. Make sure to include work for
each problem!
Clearly identify your mathematical answer (or answers) to each question.
Write the answer to the joke on the back of this paper.
Put your name on this paper and staple your work paper(s) to the back.
Turn it all in on time.
This assignment is due by 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15.
Extra credit will be awarded on a sliding scale based on how many of your answers are
correct. BUT you will get zero extra credit if you didn’t follow the above instructions.
If you have any questions, ask me outside of regular class time.
Part 1 – Factoring
For problems 1-3, factor:

For each of problems 4-6, find two different integers that can substitute for c so that each
new expression can be factored. (After factoring, the final factors must include only integer
coefficients.) Give both the integers that you propose to substitute for c AND show the
resulting factoring.
