• Not directly testable
Specific
–A specific prediction about the relationship between a mechanism and some element of the pattern. (Specific prediction is a clear derivative of the general hypothesis, specific
hypothesis is detailed [i.e. includes everything listed below], well-formulated, and between 2-4 sentences) (1pts)
• Should contain information concerning
– The measured metric (e.g. growth) (1pt)
– Survey or experimental design (e.g. the treatment levels, replication, location of sampling units, time period) (2pt)
– The direction of the prediction (e.g. Increased growth in response to treatment) (1pt)
• Should be directly testable
