Retirement System, or TCDRS. TCDRS is a non-profit public trust providing
pension, disability and death benefits for the eligible employees of participating
counties and districts.

Burnet County operates its own law enforcement department, the Burnet
County Sheriff’s office.

Four chief administrative officers, 19 patrol deputies, 1 civil deputy, and 14
reserve deputies; 1 juvenile officer; 5 criminal investigators; 2 narcotics
officers, 3 bailiffs, one warrant officer, 1 administrative sergeant, and one animal
control officer. There are also 12
full-time, and 4 part-time, dispatchers.
The current county jail is staffed by 18
full-time, and

corrections officers, as well as various administrative staff .
Equipment includes vehicles, radios, office equipment, and firearms.

Parks - Playgrounds - Recreation
Burnet, Texas has the Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center. This is
operated by the City of Burnet, and features an indoor swimming pool, a splash
pool, indoor walkways, and sports fields. Burnet also has two public parks, and
is expected to begin construction on a third multi-use sports, playground, and
recreation park.
Marble Falls, Texas has four major multi-use parks and a public swimming
facility. Marble Falls also has Lakeside Pavilion available for rental for events.
Various communities within Burnet County have small city parks and
campgrounds.
The county is home to two major state parks, Inks Lake State Park and
Longhorn Cavern State Park. The region also includes part of the Lower
Colorado River chain of lakes, and has numerous resorts and camps
surrounding Lake Buchanan, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, and Inks Lake.
