This program provides Scouts the opportunity to attend summer camp if they are unable to go with their own troop or they want to attend an additional week of summer camp. Participants become members of Panning Pete’s Super Troop, a provisional troop that provides Scouts with a similar experience to a traditional troop that attends summer camp. Scouts will participate fully in all programs at Camp Cortlandt Dietler, all the while under a watchful eye of trained adult Scoutmasters who are part of the permanent camp staff. Over the course of the week, your Scout will have fun earning merit badges, cooking food, shooting rifles and attending an outpost at Adventure Valley or Colorado History. Along the way he will also learn more about essential Scouting principles like the patrol method and team work. Space for this program is limited, so sign up now! No Scout should miss out on the fun and excitement of summer camp because he can’t participate with his own troop. Where: Scouts will spend their week at CAMP CORTLANDT DIETLER on the Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch, Elbert, Colorado. Who: All registered Boy Scouts are eligible to participate in Panning Pete’s Super Troop. Each session is limited to 20 Scouts, and no more than 4 Scouts from the same troop may attend any given week. Why: This program allows Scouts who would normally miss out on summer camp a great opportunity to work on rank advancement and participate in all the other great activities Camp Dietler has to offer. Besides, it is a great way to have a whole lot of fun in a safe, Scouting environment. How: You only need to provide the Scout’s personal gear (clothing and equipment), and a way to get him to and from camp. We will provide the experienced adult leadership, patrol gear, and all the fun your Scout can have. Complete the registration form on the back of this form and return it to the Council Service Center with a $50.00 NONREFUNDABLE deposit. Once registered, each Scout will receive additional information and medical forms before the Scout attends their week of camp. When: Week #1 – June 12 – 18 Week #3 – July 3 – 9 Week #5 – July 17 - 23 Week #2 – June 19 - 25 Week #4 –July 10 – 16 Cost: The fee for Scout participants in Panning Pete’s Super Troop is $345 and the adult fee is $200. A NONREFUNDABLE deposit of $50.00 per participant is required to reserve your spot. This deposit can be transferred to another week, or to other participants. Full payment is due no later than three weeks prior to the arrival date. For Scouts returning to camp for additional week, payments can be made at the Council Office.
