Other Forms of Publicity
Org Sync Pages
Every student organization has an opportunity to promote their organization through
their Org Sync page. This is a great way to promote your organization since you have
the ability to create events within your page, promote your events to the UCO org Sync
community and organize your group’s information on your page’s calendar. For more
information about how to best utilize Org Sync for your organization, contact the Student
Organizations office.
The Vista
Student organizations may purchase advertising space in the UCO’s student
newspaper, The Vista. The Vista is a great way to reach not only UCO students, but the
Edmond community as well. The Vista also offers advertising space on their web site.
For more information, contact the office of The Vista at 974-5918 or visit them online at
uco360.com.
Student Organizations Calendar
Every student organization can get their events published on the Student Organizations
Master calendar. To do so, create your event on Org Sync and select to add it to the
community calendar. This will publish it to the Student Organizations calendar on Org
Sync and the UCO Student Organizations website.
UCONNECT and CENTRALITIES
A popular way to advertise campus wide events, fundraisers and philanthropic
endeavors to faculty and staff is through UCONNECT and CENTRALITIES. It is
recommended to do this no later than one week prior to the event for maximum results
throughout campus. Write a brief overview of the event (including who, what, when,
where, why, and the contact person for the event) and submit the event to University
Relations.
Facebook, Twitter, and Other Social Media Outlets
Social media is continually on the rise and is a great (and free) way to publicize your
event. Be sure to create an event to get the word out to the online community.
Be Creative!
This list is by no means inclusive of all the ways that you can publicize your event. Get
creative and try out new and different ways to get the word out about your events!
