APPLICATION
•
•
•
•
•
•
Apply 2 wet coats or until hiding is achieved.
Allow each coat to flash until hand slick.
For optimal results, tack between each coat to reduce dry over spray.
Inlet Pressure: 20-24 psi HVLP/ 20-24 psi compliant spray gun.
Tip: 1.4–1.5 HVLP / 1.3 – 1.4 compliant spray gun.
Recommended Dry Film Thickness is 1.5-2.0 mils.
Note: For metallic colors, a control coat may be applied using the following guidelines. The
control coat should be applied using a medium wet coat applied at approximately 12-16 psi
inlet pressure for HVLP and Compliant Guns.
BLENDING
•
•
•
Refer to the Surface Preparation area above.
Apply ATX™ 3.5 VOC basecoat until coverage is achieved extending each coat beyond the
previous coat
Optional Blender Coat: Highly recommended on Light to Midtone colors.
o Once basecoat coverage has been achieved, add ready-to-spray ATX™3.5 VOC
Blender, 1550139, to the reduced basecoat color at a rate of up to 25% for use as a
basecoat blender.
o
Adjust inlet pressure to 12-16 psi for HVLP and Compliant Guns.
o
Apply this mixture to the repair or blend area to even out the transition.
Note:
•
If Desired: A “Wet Bed” Blending Option can be applied under the blend area before the final drop
coat is applied. Alternatively, Ready-to-Spray 1550139 can be applied over the blend area to check
blend/color transition before applying clearcoat.
RECOAT
•
•
Clearcoat ATX™ basecoat color with ATX™ 2.1 VOC clearcoat 1090210 for spot repairs or
ATX™ 2.1 VOC clearcoat 1090211 for multi / overall repairs. Allow a 10-20 minute flash for the
