第十届 “汉语桥”世界中学生中文比赛 新西兰奥克兰赛区预赛 The 10th "Chinese Bridge" Speech Competition for Secondary and Intermediate School Students Auckland Regional Competition 2017 1. Introduction: The competition is intended to encourage students’ interest and enthusiasm in learning Chinese and to enhance their understanding of Chinese language and culture. 2. Host: Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) 3. Organisers: Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Auckland Confucius Institute in Auckland 4. Date: 1:00PM, Saturday, 13th May 2017 5. Venue: Level 0, Owen G Glenn Building (Business School), The University of Auckland, 12 Grafton Road. 6. Topic: China and Me 7. Requirements: Categories Senior non-native (Year 11-13) Junior non-native (Year 7-10) Chinese related Talent Show Speech Questions (compulsory) Judging criteria includes content, fluency, grammar, pronunciation, presentation (compulsory) Questions will be provided one week before the competition date for you to prepare (optional) but could earn bonus points towards the student’s overall performance Chinese Speech 2-3 minutes One question Talent Show 2-4 minutes Chinese Speech 1-2 minutes One question Talent Show 2-4 minutes 8. Eligibility: (determined by Hanban) 1. New Zealand citizen or New Zealand permanent resident (non-Chinese citizenship). 2. Born and brought up in countries and regions outside of China. 3. The student’s first language is NOT Chinese. Parents and grandparents living with the student should not be native speakers of Chinese. Please note: In order to confirm the eligibility, students are required to bring a photocopy of their passport on the competition day. If a student represented New Zealand in the International Competition in China last year, he/she will not be eligible to represent Auckland in the New Zealand national competition. His or her registration and final ranking only applies to the Auckland Regional Competition. 9. Awards: The winners of the senior and junior non-native categories will represent Auckland region in the 10th New Zealand National “Chinese Bridge" Speech Competition, which will be held in Wellington on 10th June 2017. The students’ airfares and accommodations for the national final will be covered by the organisers in Wellington. The national winners in the senior category will represent New Zealand to compete in the Chinese Bridge Final Competition in China. Hanban will fund their international airfares, accommodation, transportation and other related expenses in China. 10.
