Welcome back to school and welcome to 7th Grade! I am new to Lumen this year, just like you! For use in both
English and Social studies I would like you to have a 2” three-ring binder with plenty of loose leaf paper (wide or
college ruled) and two two-pocket folders. For English you will also need a composition notebook (must be
bound, not spiral), blue or black pens, a red pen or pencil, tissues*, and a highlighter.*
*These items will be left in the classroom to be used as a class set by all of my students. If you bring these items to
school by Friday August 24 you will receive a free late homework pass.

Individual requirements:
A big enough binder for filing worksheets and hand-outs; for keeping track of ‘stuff’.
Writing tools, such as pen, pencil, and eraser
Lined paper
A Google gmail account, if you don’t have it already. It’s free.
For the class community:
Every student needs to bring 2 reams of white copy paper.
(I still have plenty of tissues and sanitizers for hands and surfaces from last year. Thank you. )
Recommended:
As part of being groomed and prepared for college, we will work with computers and the internet. You either have
your own or are allowed access to one at school. Major homework assignments will need to be typed in a word
document. For some classes you will need to conduct Internet research. From time-to-time we will have work
sessions in class that require computers.
