AIM Harvest Summary: Weeks of 7/4 and 7/11 3 person crew (2 divers) Dive Leader: Kyle Jaquis Week 3 This week we swam from the northern tip of sunset cove (where the boat is parked) north into the far north bay. Along this swim we picked 55 scattered plants along the steep drop off. In the bay farthest to the north a few small new growth patches were found. One just north of the bridge and two on the western shore of the North bay. This area produced 1 bag of milfoil and should be re-swam later on. From there we moved up the shoreline and into Big Rock Cove. In Big Rock Cove 40 plants were found mainly in the rock pile in the center of the bay and a few by the rocky point on the western shore. This area should also re-swam later on. Next, we moved to the south west shore just above the narrows. 40 mature plants were picked in the cove just above the narrows and around the 3 islands a patch of 34 plants was found on a rock pile. This area produced 1/2 of a bag. Continuing up the western shore hitting the rock piles 20 plants were picked some were on the rock pile and some were in the cove north of the 3 islands. On the eastern shore just north of the narrows to divot just south of Point O' Pines only two plants were found in this area. However it will be returned to be finished. 2 bags total – 50 lbs Week 4 We began the week in the divot South of Point O’ Pines finding 12 plants and swam North into Sunset Cove finding 6 plants in the entirety of the Sunset littoral zone. We then went to the North end of the lake and swam toward Big Rock Cove. A patch was found around the small island North of Big Rock that produced a full bag of plants. We next swam the Northern bay in full finding ½ bag in the shallows near the lilies in the far Northern section. We then swam Big Rock Cove and down the Western shore of the lake finding only 10 plants scattered along the swim. 1.75 bags total – 43.75 lbs
