Snow Queen Scholarship Application To be a Snow Queen candidate, you must: • Be a high school junior girl graduating in the spring of 2018. • Show a passion for working with children of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. • Serve as a role model for young girls through your character and commitment to the museum’s mission of inspiring creativity and individuality. • Exhibit balance between academics, community service, and sports. • Have grades in good standing. • Submit two letters of recommendation: One from the school you are currently attending and one from another non-family member. (volunteer, work, sports, etc.) • Be able to volunteer at least 50 hours as CMoR’s Snow Queen during her reigning year (required by CMoR), including, but not limited to the following dates: • Snow Queen Interviews: November 14th-18th, 2016 • Snow Queen Coronation and Snow Days Festival: January 7th or 8th, 2017 and the following weekends (Saturday and Sunday) in January 2017 • Reading Month: 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday) in March 2017 • Down on the Farm Day: 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday) in June 2017 • Christmas in July: July 25, 2017 • Santa Teas: Select dates in December 2017 • Dominion Christmas Parade: Saturday, December 2, 2017 • 2018 Snow Queen Coronation: Weekend date (Saturday and Sunday) in January 2018 • Be willing to make public appearances as Snow Queen for the Children’s Museum at all four museum locations, in addition to off-site museum events (as scheduled by CMoR).
