Community Engagement Internship at The Greater Tygerberg Partnership
Internship will entail:





Identifying key stakeholders across GTP projects
Arranging and attending meetings with the community and associated stakeholders
Facilitating community conversations and identifying concerns, risks, and opportunities
Providing structural feedback regarding community engagement to the projects team
Taking initiative in developing ways to:
 a) creatively engage with the community
 b) develop project concepts for the GTP based on community engagements
Requirements of applicant:



Grade 12 qualification
Relevant tertiary qualification in one of the related fields:
 intercultural studies; community engagement; applied language studies; community planning;
social development; social sciences
or
Relevant experience in community engagement and able to provide evidence thereof

Strong networking capacity
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
Work well in a team environment
Strong intercultural skills, able to engage with a diverse range of people with consistent efficacy across
all engagements
Intuitive and takes initiative
Although this position will directly report to our Packaging & Implementation Department, requirements
of the intern will spread across GTP departments
Position available immediately; and for 3 months initially. Thereafter, candidate will be reviewed with the
possibility of extension of internship for one year
Stipend is R6,000 p/month
Position is full time
