COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 20th Annual Mayo Clinic Endocrine Update course is designed for endocrinologists
and interested internists, family medicine and primary care physicians and surgeons.
The course focuses on gaps in medical knowledge and barriers in clinical practice in
order to improve the outcomes of patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders.
The program will consist of lectures, case presentations, panel discussions,
clinicopathologic sessions, “clinical pearls” sessions, informal breakfast and round
table discussions, and small group discussions with experts. There will be several
opportunities for interaction with course faculty.
HIGHLIGHTED LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

• Describe how to diagnose and appropriately manage primary hyperparathyroidism
with diverse clinical presentations.
Attendance at this Mayo Clinic course does not indicate nor guarantee competence or
proficiency in the performance of any procedures which may be discussed or taught in
this course.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
The course is designed to meet the professional development needs of practicing
clinical endocrinologists, endocrine surgeons, primary care providers, nurse
practitioners, physician assistants and interested internists who care for adults with
