From 10am in the morning the streets in the town centre come alive with the sounds of samba, marching bands, groups and choirs, whilst there is a real buzz of fun from the various street performers. There’s live music on the Cornhill stage, in Angel Place Shopping Centre and at St Mary’s Church, a children’s parade in the afternoon and a whole host of other activities to get you in the mood for the illuminated procession. Come to the town early and join in the party! FIREWORKS For centuries the spectacular simultaneous squibbing display has brought Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival to a dramatic climax. This ancient tradition takes place in the town’s High Street approximately 15 minutes after the end of the parade. Nowhere else in the world stages such an amazing event.
