1. Introduction
Kirsten Fenton warmly thanked Julie Enders for the amazing job she did as Chair of the
Friends of KGPS during 2010-2011, as well as John Brownridge for taking care of the
accounts for the past 2 years.
The Friends’ is looking for a Vice Chair ideally from Upper School (as Lower School is
already highly represented in the exec team).
àAction: All reps
Please advertise the Vice Chair position with your classes and let Kirsten Fenton know
who might be interested in stepping in.
2. Upcoming Events
Summer Swing:
Friday 16th September, coordinated by Cressida Strauss
150 tickets have been sold so far; our target is to sell a minimum of 160 tickets
(maximum being 200).
àAction: All reps
Please advertise the Summer Swing event details to your classes.
• All tickets must be purchased by Monday 12th September with Cressida Strauss
or Caroline Merritt
• The menu will be Salmon, green beans and new Potatoes; a vegetarian option
will be available on request (request to be made by Monday 12th September with
Cressida)
• The table plan will be done on Monday, all special requests to be sent by Monday
12th September to Cressida
• Quite a few ladies will be on their own, don’t be deterred if your partner can’t
make it
• Help is needed on Thursday 15th pm and Friday 16th to set up the marquee,
tables… and also on Saturday am for clearing up
Harvest Festival:
Thursday 20th October, coordinated by Tara Whyte
Julie Enders will brief Tara.
Christmas Cards & Christmas Puddings:
Respectively coordinated by Nathalie Savage & Jo Midgley + Rachel Welch
Stephanie Dumeau will brief Nathalie this day.
Jo and Rachel already organized the Christmas Puddings last year.
The artwork requests and deadline should match on both projects to simplify the
process for the parents.
Lower School Christmas Treat:
Wednesday 7th December, coordinated by Audrey Iwasko and Sarah Bellamy
The children will see Charlotte’s web at the Polka Dot Theater. The friends’ financed most
of the treat; there will be a small contribution from the parents.
Upper School Christmas Treat:
Date TBC, coordinated by Anita Chisholm and Amy Tully
The children will be taken ice-skating either at Kew Garden (if there is an ice ring this
year) or at Hampton Court.
Anita and Amy already organized the Upper School Christmas Treat last year.
Pumpkin Competition:
The children will have to guess the weight of the giant pumpkin.
The pumpkin is donated by a parent and the Friends’ offer book vouchers to the Lower
and Upper School winner.
àAction: Kirsten Fenton
Obtain the event date from the school.
Jeans for Genes:
The children are supposed to wear their shirt, tie, blazer, uniform shoes with a pair of jeans
(no jeans skirt). The fact that it is not a mufti day seems to remove the fun factor for the
children.
àAction: Kirsten Fenton
Check with the school that the year 6 pupils will be collecting the £ coins.
Have a conversation with Mr. Peck and the PSHE teacher regarding a proper mufti day.
Second Hand Uniform Sales:
The next sale will take place in April 2012 and will be organised by Caroline Merritt
Parents should have the opportunity to place adds in the Friends’ board to sell items.
Cake sales:
Year 6K made £163 yesterday.
There has been a change made in the cake sale rota: the sale on May 10th will be
organized by 6P (instead of 6G like initially planned in the Handbook, it was a typo
error).
Each parent should bring around 18-20 cakes.
A float is available in the school office on the cake sale day.

Perry Uniform:
The lead-times can be unacceptably long! A few reps are asking for a second supplier
(Harrods).
àAction: All reps
Please obtain feedback from your classes about Perry Uniform and send consolidated
information for each class to Kirsten Fenton who will look into this issue with the
school/Perry Uniform.
3. Calendar
The calendar has been dispatched to the Team. A Soft version will be sent with the
minutes.
4. Class Reps Role
The Class Reps Role document has been dispatched to the Team. A Soft version will be
sent with the minutes.
àAction: All reps
Please e-mail your class list spreadsheet to Stephanie Dumeau
5. Miscellaneous
Lost & Found property box:
Christina Marty informed the Friends’ that the school is putting a new process in place
to manage the box: Prefects will go through the box every Friday and will return to its
owners all the items labelled.
The Friends’ suggest that every Friday of every month, everyone can help themselves
from the remaining items.
Sheds:
They are in a poor state and the pieces of clothing get dirty and damaged. A request for
lockers has been put through to the school in the past, with no success because of a
space issue.
àAction: Kirsten Fenton
Bring the discussion in again with the school regarding lockers.
Friends’ drawer:
The drawer that was in the school office has disappeared but will make its way back
soon.
Lego:
The School thanked the Friends’ for the Legos given. They asked for an extra
contribution: this will be voted during our next meeting.
Gift for Mrs. Gardener:
A willow tree has been donated by a parent and the pot has been purchased by the
Friends’.
Parent Governor:
Julie Enders reminded the Friends’ that as new Parent Governor all parents could get in
touch with her.
