Blue gi is optional. First name called wears a white gi, second name called wears blue gi or blue sash. Blue gis are encouraged for U16-U21 divisions. PRINCE GEORGE OPEN JUDO TOURNAMENT All divisions will be divided into light, middle and heavy weight categories. Children’s categories will match competitors of equal weight, rank and age wherever possible, with 3-5 competitors in each category. 1 official for division 1, 2 offficials for divisions 2-9 U8 (7 years and under, athlete has not yet turned 8) U10 (9 years and under, athlete has not yet turned 10) U12 (11 years and under, athlete has not yet turned 12) U14 (13 years and under, athlete has not yet turned 14) CATEGORIES AND DIVISION #S 1. White Belt Skills Competition – all ages White belts only Competitors will be grouped by age, weight and gender wherever possible Competitors will take turns demonstrating throws, hold downs and escapes One referee will officiate, no judges, no scores will be awarded. Hikiwake (draw/tie) will be awarded at the end of the match. This is a demonstration of techniques only (as per Judo Canada guidelines for white belts) All participants will receive an award match time - 1 min 30 seconds continuous time 2. Novice Girls (yellow belts only) U8, U10, U12, U14 – match time – 1.5 minutes continuous time 3. Novice Boys (yellow belts only) U8, U10, U12, U14 – match time – 1.5 minutes continuous time 4. Junior Girls (orange belts and higher) U8, U10, U12, U14 – match time – 2 minutes continuous time 5. Junior Boys (orange belts and higher) U8, U10, U12, U14 – match time – 2 minutes continuous time 6. U16 Girls (orange belts and higher) – match times 3 minutes, plus golden score 7. U16 Boys (orange belts and higher) – match times 3 minutes, plus golden score 8. U18 Girls (orange belts and higher) – match times 3 minutes, plus golden score 9. U18 Boys (orange belts and higher) – match times 3 minutes, plus golden score 10. U21 women and men – compete in Senior (divs 13 and 14) 11. Novice Senior Women (yellow and orange belts) 13 years and older no chokes or armlocks, match time – 3 minutes 12. Novice Senior Men (yellow and orange belts) 13 years and older no chokes or armlocks, match time – 3 minutes 13. Senior Women (all ranks, no white belts) – match time – 3 minutes 14.
