You MUST have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dessert can replace dinner. You may or may
not get full credit for each meal, depending on your work.

Activity 1: Create a Foldable: Your foldable must include the following: turgor pressure,
phototropism, geotropism, and seedling emergence. Your foldable needs to include definitions
and drawings with examples.

Activity 4: Tropisms & Seedlings. Watch the YouTube about Tropisms. Define Phototropism,
Geotropism, and Thigmotropism. Draw examples to accompany your definitions. Watch the
YouTube about Seedlings. Complete the STEMscopes 7.7C Explore student journal background
section. How do seeds know which way to emerge?
Activity 4: Create a Prezi, Google Slide, or iMovie that explains in detail what tropisms are and
why they are important to plants. What role do tropisms play in the emergence of seedlings?
Which tropism do you think is the most important? What would happen if plants did not have
that tropism?

Activity 5: Science Fusion Unit 6 Lesson 1 Virtual Lab. As you work through the lesson,
define the following: pressure probe, water, osmosis, turgor pressure, central vacuole. Make
a prediction and record it in your journal. Create the Effect on Water of Broad Bean Plant
chart in your journal. Record your data. Was your prediction correct? Observe
phototropism. What do you think caused the roots and shoots to grow in the direction that
they did?

Tropisms Virtual Lab. Complete the lab and reflection questions. Create an informational
presentation about the types of tropisms you witnessed in the experiments. Share your
information in a iMovie of thinglink.
