BIO: Erin Saoirse Adair Adair is a diverse composer, vocalist, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based out of Ottawa,
Ontario. Recently, she has become a prominent and popular voice in the local folk scene, and has garnered accolades for her
accessible, and deeply relevant lyrics. Adair’s songs reflect the influence of folkloric traditions and though her musical arrangements
are complex, Adair’s goal on stage is to tell a story. In these songs she sings frankly and humorously about her experiences with
alcoholism, mental health issues, and sexual assault, in an effort to remove the stigmas that are associated with these issues.
She comes from the tradition of topical songwriting, so she writes about current social justice issues, environmental justice issues,
sex positivity, worker’s rights, and more.
Adair placed as a runner-up in the national CBC Music Searchlight competition. Beating out thousands of other hopefuls, Adair has
received attention and accolades for her song "The Ugly Song" both from fans and from the Searchlight panel of judges.
Adair is now working on her second album, due out in 2015, and hopes to raise funds from fans and supporters via online
