How to Choose
a Candle

Service Length
Determine how long you expect your
candlelight service or vigil to last.
Longer candles are recommended
for longer services. Congregation
candles that are 1/2” thick burn
approximately 1 inch of wax every 30
minutes when upright.

Drip Protectors
Select your drip protector. Longer
candles are recommended for use
with shield protectors. Shorter candles
are fine to use with plastic holder drip
protectors since the candle can burn
almost to the bottom.
