Parts of a Flower
The inside of a flower are:
Sepal – the green leaf that protects the developing bud.
Petal – the colorful and scented part of the flower that helps to attract
pollinators.
Stamen – the male part of the flower. This is where pollen is made.
Pistil – The female part of the flower. It has a sticky top so that pollen is
trapped. The pollen travels down the pistil to the ovaries where it will
fertilize the undeveloped seeds.
Ovary – This is found at the end of the pistil. This is where the unfertilized
seeds wait to be fertilized by the pollen. Once fertilized, the seeds will
develop. The ovary eventually becomes the fruit.
