COMPETENCE CENTER EXTERNAL STAFF External Staff Request 24/05/2016 Project Officer for Operating Accounting Solutions CCES Reference: 6936QPOAS CCES Code: S40PROM Start Date ASAP Duration 6 months Location Brussels Context The OAS team (Operational Accounting Solutions) is part of the Finance Business Solutions department within Accounting and Reporting. OAS is responsible for the integration of all the different business events sourced by the different operating systems into the general ledger (also known as OFS) of BNPPARIBAS Fortis. OAS is owner of the accounting schemes and the technical implementation of these. OAS is in the lead of several sourcing projects and collaborates to other Finance and business projects impacting the accounting. Moreover, OAS participates to all evolutions with accounting impact in the Run the Bank production. Function Description You are part of the OAS team within Finance Accounting & Reporting Department, in charge of the accounting interpretation (both financial accounting and management accounting) of the Business activities within the bank General Ledger. You act as the main coordinator between the businesses’ engineering/IT teams and Finance for all business projects and RTB evolutions impacting Finance systems, keeping in mind the target architecture and convergence towards group system and methodology. You follow a standardized methodology to realize all the deliverables required by every phase of the project/evolution in order to ensure sourcing into the accounting system for the production of financial reporting: initialization, planning, accounting study, product life cycle description, accounting schemes, specifications for accounting interpretation rules, testing, post go live assistance. You offer management support to organize, follow up and optimise delivery of OAS projects and RTB tasks transversally for all scopes. Moreover, you have a key role in the governance & communication with a great number of stakeholders: OAS team in Paris (SP), MOA/MOE & business users (CSS), Financial users & others (TAX, Risk, etc). You deliver a regular follow-up of the status of each project/task, you raise alerts when necessary and you follow risks and issues. Tasks: 6936QPOAS.DOC Understanding the theoretical accounting schemes and reporting requirements of the products in scope; develop a ‘to be ‘ accounting scheme, translated to the accounting manual used by the group; ensure all parametrisations are done in the group accounting systems to integrate the bookings to the new platform; accompany the user in the new booking process. Provide Training, guidance and user support; controls and Reconciliations after transfer to ensure quality of data; documentation of procedures, process; intermediary with IT department and Group MOA; participation to other required tasks in relation to his/her qualification and knowledge. Analytical mind for a business engineering function (insight in IT architecture & systems); Capacity to analyse accounting & reporting systems & figures (gap analysis of different reports: legal regulatory reports BE-Gaap and IFRS, BIII, liquidity reporting….); Knowledge of Bank products « Retail & CIB » and their life cycle; Accounting knowledge of bank products « Retail & CIB » following IFRS and BE-Gaap rule is a big plus! Be able to understand business needs out of a lot of information, sometimes in a difficult environment or with contradictory interests; relations with stakeholders are very important.
