The Bullitt County Preschool Program is funded through the Kentucky Department of Education. It is available to all fouryear old children whose family income is no more than 160% of poverty level or for three and four year old children with
developmental or speech delays, regardless of income. A child must be four (4) years of age on or before August 1,
2016 unless there is a need of special education services.
Head Start is a federally funded, comprehensive school readiness program for three and four year old children from
income eligible families. The child must be 3 years old by May 23, 2016.
At the time of registration, each child will be screened in the following areas: cognitive, motor, language, social/emotional,
self-help/adaptive.
Preschool is located in all of our elementary schools. Preschool classes are held in the morning and in the afternoon on
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Transportation is provided. The session in which your child will be
enrolled is determined by the bus routes and schedule. You will be given this information by the teacher at your home
visit.
