Westside Community Center Offers Free Beginning Spanish Classes for Adults
New Braunfels, TX - Have you wanted to learn conversational Spanish and basic Spanish survival phrases?
Are your kids in a dual language program and you would like to learn Spanish, too? Maybe you plan to travel, or
would like to practice Spanish with a co-worker or neighbor? The Westside Community Center will be offering free
Spanish classes for adults beginning June 7th. The Center is located at 2932 S. IH-35 in New Braunfels.
Mabel Brown, an adult Spanish and Second Language instructor in the community, will be teaching two
sessions from June 7th to July 7th. The schedule allows adults 18 and over to either attend a Tuesday evening session
from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. or a Thursday morning session from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30.a.m. Classes will be held in the
upstairs classroom across from the Center’s Library.
“The Westside Community Center is excited about the upcoming Spanish classes and the flexibility in the
class offerings,” said Outreach Coordinator, Jennifer Hernandez. “This is the perfect class to jump start your
Spanish in a classroom environment. Ms. Brown is a great fit as an instructor - she’s engaging and enthusiastic
about teaching adults a new language.”
Ms. Hernandez also noted her thanks to the Friends of the Public Library and the City of New Braunfels for
their support in offering the free classes to the general public.
Seats are limited. To register go to the New Braunfels Public Library calendar at
www.nbtexas.org/librarycalendar and click on the Spanish Class Session of choice. Call 830-221-4630 for
