Holiday Card Message Board A bright holiday fabric is the perfect background to display seasonal cards and pictures. This bulletin board is so easy to make, you'll want to recover it in the New Year to showcase the next season's keepsakes. As shown, our bulletin board is 24'' square. Supplies: • 24'' inch square of 1/2” thick plywood • 7⁄8 yard fabric • 13⁄4 yards fusible fleece • 21⁄2 yards cording • 21⁄2 yards ribbon • Upholstery tacks • Glue sticks and hot glue gun • 2 eyelet screws and wire (for hanging) Directions: 1. Cut fusible fleece into two 29’’ squares. One at a time, center fleece, fusible side down, over plywood. Press in place with a steam iron. Wrap excess fleece to the back of the board. Trim out corners reduce bulk. Press in place. (The adhesive on the back of the fleece will stick to the unfinished wood. If you prefer, two layers of plain fleece can be wrapped around the board and stapled in place using a staple gun.) 2. Cut fabric into a 30'' square. Steam press to remove any wrinkles. Center fabric, right side up, on top of padded board. Using straight pins, pin around outside edge. 3. Wrap border of fabric to underside of board, tuck under raw edge of fabric, and miter fullness at corners. Hot glue edge of fabric to board. Remove straight pins on face of bulletin board. 4. Cut 1 length of ribbon and 1 length of cord 41'' long. Cut remaining ribbon and cord in half. 5. Center 41''’ length of ribbon diagonally across board. Pull ribbon taut and pin at corners. Pin remaining ribbon 12'' away on either side. Turn board over and glue ends of ribbon in place. From opposite corner, repeat process with cording. Remove pins on front of board. 6. Hammer upholstery tacks at insertions of ribbon and cording, and around edge of board. 7. Attach eyelet screws to back of board. Thread wire between eyelets, and twist ends to secure.
