MITOSIS PROJECT
By the end of this section; I will be able to describe the stages of mitosis and
explain its purpose as it relates to cells and development.
Directions:
Use the resources available to you and your partners to create a mitosis, cell division,
mobile. The mobile will illustrate your understanding of the process of mitosis. You will
present to your teammate(s) your research. You may use a variety of materials to create
your model.
At you tables you will have:
 Glue Stick
 2 Pink Papers(1 square &1
rectangular)
 White Oak tag paper
 Colored oak paper
 Large template





Every project must include all of the following:
1. Explanation of what happens during each of the following:
a. Interphase
b. Prophase
c. Metaphase
d. Anaphase
e. Telophase
f. Cytokinesis
2. Each of the above explanations must have the role of and what happens to the
chromosomes, centrioles, centromeres, spindle fibers, nucleus, cell membrane,
and nuclear membrane.
3. The end result will be a completed mitosis mobile.
