Associate Principal Second Violin

The NZSO tunes at A440. Candidates MUST use the same instrument for the solos and
excerpts. Free bowing for orchestral excerpts. Auditions must be unaccompanied.
Solo (unaccompanied)
01 - Mozart - Concerto No. 4 or 5 exposition of the 1st movement with cadenza
02 - Exposition of the 1st movement of one of the following concertos:
Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky OR Sibelius
Excerpts
03 – Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet
04 - Brahms
Symphony No. 4
05 - Beethoven Symphony No. 9
06 - Mahler
Symphony No. 9
07 - Bartók
Concerto for Orchestra
08 – R. Strauss Also sprach Zarathustra! (2 excerpts)
09 - Mozart

If sending a recorded audition, to enable us to easily directly play any excerpt, please label each file
individually as per these example filenames:
