Dear Parents and Teachers,
THE COMPETITION
We would like to help the local children celebrate this festive time of year and how better than making a eye
catching bauble. So get out your craft boxes, get your glue sticks at the ready and let’s get CRAFTING! Design and
make a Bauble which we can hang in the practice for everyone to see. Over the years, our patients have loved looking at your designs. From Santa’s reading glasses to Eddy the elves new sunglasses, they’ve loved them all! So,
Let’s see what you can make this year, and don’t forget for every bauble that is brought into the practice, a treat is
waiting. So why not give it a go, you never know… you may be a winner!
GOOD VISION IS ESSENTIAL
Without good vision children can suffer enormous setbacks in their learning and the development of their life skills.
Sadly in the UK one in five children have never had an eye examination, leading to about one million children under
12 with uncorrected visual defects.
Regular eye examinations for your child are free of charge on the NHS. The test is straightforward, painless and interesting. (Do you know what the back of the eye looks like?) Wendy and Matthew are both experienced at putting
your children at ease while carrying out a very thorough test. If your child needs spectacles, we can provide these
free of charge. No child is too young for an eye examination and we recommend starting when your child turns 3 or
sooner, or at any age if there are any concerns.
HOW TO ENTER
Please see overleaf for details of how to enter the competition, the entries will be displayed from 23rd November in
our practice for everyone to enjoy. The entries will be judged by a local Artist and the Mayor will present the prizes on
Sat 3rd Dec at the practice. Best of luck with your entry and we hope you have fun. If you have any queries regarding the competition or you would like to arrange an eye examination for your child please get in touch.

The Competition:
We need some baubles to decorate our
Christmas tree. You can help! Just make us
a bauble, you can add whatever you like to
make your bauble stand out!
Size:
All entries should be of reasonable size,
not too big please
Materials:
You can use any materials you like.
Let your creative mind run free!
Prizes:
There are 3 categories:
Key stage 1 and key stage 2, and pre-school.
key stage 1 and 2, each will receive a prize of an Amazon fire tablet,
and there will be a cuddly toy for our pre-school entrants
