 Submit the given homework in a folder with clearly mentioned name, Roll no. class and section.
 Students should do the homework themselves.
 Holiday homework will be considered as FA-II individual activity.

THEME- EXPLORING OUR SURROUNDINGS
Mother Earth has spread beauty all around us. We just need to sensitize ourselves to appreciate it. This vacation
let us explore our surroundings and enjoy the gifts of nature.
ENGLISH
I. Discuss with your family and decide upon two places- one, shopping mall and other nature spot (park or
garden) to visit. Spend time there with your family. Write down your experiences laying stress on the
difference in the ambience, beauty and surroundings of both the places.
Also explain briefly which place you liked more and why?
Click the photographs of the places visited by you and paste them.
II. Read chapters 1-6 of Supplementary Reader “FOLK TALES” and write the names of important characters
of all six stories.

I. To find out the distance (in Km) and convert it into Metre of the following places from your house along the
pictures of the same:

I. Make a herbarium- Collect leaves of 10 different plants growing in your surroundings, dry them and paste
them on colored A-4 sheets.
II. Write the name of two famous dishes of the states of India you belong to. Paste pictures.
List the ingredients of the dish, sources and its nutritional value.
Compile the information in a tabular form.
SOCIAL SCIENCE
Activity: Visit a historical monument in Delhi with your family. On the basis of your visit, write the following:
i. Where is it located?
ii. Mode of transport used by you to visit the place.
iii. Who built the monument?
iv.When was it built?
v. Write two/three lines about the monument.
vi. Paste pictures.
Instruction: Use yellow coloured sheet with Name, Class and Roll No. clearly mentioned on it.
