Copying a pattern of numbers or text
Excel can recognise a pattern in your data and help you to quickly
continue the pattern to adjacent cells using the Auto Fill feature.
Enter information into two rows and highlight those cells.
Position the cursor bottom right of the second cell to display the
black + symbol and then drag to Auto Fill adjacent cells that you
want to populate.
This will work for numbers, days of
the week or months.
You can fill cells in any direction and
into any range of adjacent cells.
Choose your Auto Fill options from
the drop-down.
