E Y E O N AR B ON N E REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT Own Your Time Eve Rogers W Arbonne Independent Consultant, Regional Vice President Profession: Legal Services hen Eve Rogers of Barrie, Ontario, found an unexpected opportunity with Arbonne, she finally gained the time freedom that she so desired. Owning her own time meant she could fit her work around her life priorities, instead of the other way around. I’ve always wanted to be “successful.” My definition of that term four years ago was to have a professional income, which I assumed required long hours and stress. Four years ago, I had been working as a lawyer in the litigation field for about five years. The income was very good, but the lifestyle was not. I was trading a lot of time for the money I earned. There were so many things I wanted to do with my time, but I couldn’t. I kept accepting my “busy life,” as a given. It had taken me about seven years of education to arrive at this position, and I wasn’t going to give it up easily. In April of 2012, I had been back at work for six months following a full year of maternity leave with my first son Elliot. Paying for full-time daycare after a lean year on maternity leave was causing our financial position to deteriorate and our stress levels to rise. We seemed to be getting nowhere financially, even with my excellent income as a lawyer. I wondered how we would ever expand our family if this were the kind of financial hit we would take each time. Not only that, but my time with my then 18-month-old son was severely limited. I remember playing with him one morning before work, when he strung his first words together: “Don’t go work, mommy!” I thought, if only I had the choice. But back then, I didn’t. It occurred to me that I stared at the family photo on my desk for more hours in a day than I got to see my own son. My life did not match my heart’s priorities, but I felt stuck — I had to keep working because I brought in the higher income for our family. Eve's WHYs. Arbonne came along at a time when I needed a life-changing opportunity. I met now ERVP Trisha Smith-Boomhower at an Arbonne party at my next-door neighbour’s home. I fell head over heels for the products and what they stood for. I just didn’t see the Arbonne opportunity as the answer to my situation, until Trisha invited me to a Mercedes-Benz Car Presentation. What I heard that night completely took me by surprise. Professionals like me, and others without professional careers, were creating more choices and flexibility for their lives. I understood in an instant that the decisions I had made years ago to forge a legal career were decisions that no longer suited my hopes and dreams for my future. I could see that Arbonne was poised for incredible success globally, and that the next five years would pass by in an instant if I didn’t jump in and go for it. I was not getting ahead financially in the legal field, and my time was so very limited. If I wanted something different in the future, I realized I had to do something different! I decided to rewrite my future and I got started right away. I got to work SUCCESS STRATEGY “Turn the reasons why you “can’t,” into the very reasons why you must!” recommending and selling the products, and sharing the opportunity with people. I felt beautiful and healthy using Arbonne’s pure, safe, and beneficial products. It gave me confidence to follow my upline’s sales system methods for success. In the two years it took me to promote to the Regional Vice President level, my life was very full. I continued to work my Arbonne business around my demanding 60+ hours per week legal career. Also during that time, we had two more beautiful children. It was tempting to say, “I am too busy.” But instead, I made that excuse part of my Why and now, I own my time and it feels amazing! In fact, it fuelled my drive. I kept my eyes on the big picture and worked until my dreams became my reality. In June of 2015, I was able to resign from my full-time position at the law firm, having replaced my income through my Arbonne business. I am so grateful to own my own time and to know that now my future is so much brighter. Through my Arbonne business I have earned not just the Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus Program, but also incentive trips to Puerto Rico, Los Cabos, and New York, as well as enjoyed jewellery, flowers, recognition on stage, and unforgettable conferences. The friendships have been nourishing and the mentoring has been empowering. I am so grateful for the leaders in my Region. We are taking this to the top, over and over again! I believe that each and every one of you has greatness within you that is being unleashed by this opportunity. Keep your eyes focused on the beauty of your dreams — they are worth it.
