Note about Examples
All screen examples and other inserts associated with system output are provided for illustration
purposes only. They are provided as illustrative examples of system functionality and are not
meant to represent actual screen responses, fares or fare levels.
OVERVIEW
The purpose of the decode function is to decode a city/airport code into the equivalent full city
and/or airport name. The output also provides the full region/country name and a list of all
airports (codes and full names) in the city.
KEY FEATURES
•
•
•
Decode of an airport code will display the full Airport name together with country and city.
Decode of a city code will display the city, country and all associated airports, heliports, bus
terminals and rail stations in the city code area.
All other current Encode / Decode functionality remains the same.
DETAIL
The Decode function as described in the Overview above, is not working as designed on the
Galileo core and several Orbit tickets had been opened as a result.
Following are examples of current outputs that do not provide the user with information
they are requesting.
EXAMPLES
1 – A request to decode OAK provides information for all other airports, heliports, rail stations and
bus terminals in the area but does not show OAKLAND as decoding for OAK.
Input: .CD OAK

Following are examples of new outputs that will be available to users after this
enhancement is loaded to production. This new output will include the CITY code to which
the airport code is associated. See examples:

associates it to SFO city code.
Input: .CD OAK
