Christmas in the Colonies

Christmas in the Colonies
Here ye, Here ye! Attention Colonists!
It is that time again in the ___________________________
colonies. We must decorate our town’s Christmas tree.
Although Elizabeth Blackwell’s crochet ornaments last
year were lovely, this year we decided to make our tree a
little more personal. This year, we will be decorating the
tree with items that mean something to us and our colony.
Your task is to create an ornament for our colony’s
Christmas tree using anything that you feel best reflects
what is important to us. Here is a breakdown of the
project:
1. Research what is important to our colony. Think
about: where we’re located, how we make
money, our educational system, how we govern
ourselves and other unique facts that make our
colony different from the others.
2. Design an ornament that reflects our beliefs.
Remember this is decorating our Christmas tree,
so we want it to be lovely! You can create your
ornament out of anything that you’d like – from
paper to glass to candy canes.
3. Present your ornament on Friday, December 7th
as we trim our tree!
