you understand the meaning of the words?

A simile compares two unlike things, using “like” or “as.” A metaphor
talks about two different things as if they were the same thing. This
first sentence talks about alarm bells in Willis’ head. Is this a metaphor
or a simile?
It sounds like Willis knows he’ll be in big trouble if he meets Howie. So
why is he having a hard time deciding what to do?
