On Tuesday, June 10th the Colonial Valley Conference will hold our Sportsmanship Buffet
@ 6:00 pm at the Hamilton Manor. We will be honoring one female and one male student
athlete from each Colonial Valley High School. We will also be honoring (1) coach from
each school as well.
This is our opportunity as the leaders of our respective athletic communities and the
Colonial Valley Conference, to honor the C.V.C.’s finest student athletes and coaches with
a Sportsmanship Award.
To make this event a success, the sportsmanship committee needs your help. Enclosed is a
packet of materials for each Athletic Director to address. The amount due per school is
$220. Please have checks made out to CVC.
Enclosed is a form for each recipient and congratulations letter for each recipient. Please
make a copy for each of your recipients.

Criteria for Sportsmanship Award
The male and female sportsmanship award recipient must be a senior,
varsity letter winner in at least one sport, and be in satisfactory academic
standing.
Recipient must also:
1. Possess qualities of good citizenship and principles of ethical and
fair play while representing the school and community.
2. Demonstrate consistent quality of accepting a loss or defeat
without complaint, and victory without gloating.
3. Treat his or her opponents with fairness, generosity and courtesy.
Criteria for Coach Sportsmanship Award
The coach’s sportsmanship award recipient must be a role model for his
or her student-athletes who promotes good citizenship and principles of
ethical and fair play on and off the field of competition.
Recipient must also:
1. Demonstrate consistent quality of accepting a loss or defeat
without complaint, and victory without gloating.
2. Treat his or her opponents with fairness, generosity, and courtesy.

Beginning at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10th, the Colonial Valley Conference
will hold our Sportsmanship Buffet at Mercer Oaks Catering.
We will be honoring one female and one male student athlete from each
Colonial Valley High School. We will also be honoring one coach from each
school as well.
Congratulations on being selected as a recipient for your school. As an
honoree your attendance at the buffet is free. Additional tickets for
parents/family members can be purchased for $25.00 each. Please complete
the attached form and return it to your Athletic Director by Friday, May 16,
