The world in which we live is filled with stark contradictions. Our many blessings of progress exist along side the suffering of countless people living in sub-human conditions. Wars and insurrections are threatening the balance of peace throughout the world. The annual Peter's Pence Collection gives us all an opportunity to join in partnership with the Holy Father to help relieve the suffering of the most vulnerable. The worldwide Peter's Pence began as a "pence" in 9th century England when King Alfred collected money from landowners for financial support for the pope. Envelopes are in the lobby.
