When the sun goes down, the big starry sky sets the stage
for evening entertainment. Play Night Golf on the fairways
with glow-in-the-dark golf balls. Or join the Post-Dinner Pool

My family first came to Basin Harbor in 1999 when I was only nine years old. My dad brought me and my
younger siblings to Kid’s Camp. We were reluctant to go at first, but we instantly made friends. Those friends
and families brought us back to Basin Harbor every summer for the next 16 years. While working as a BHC
camp counselor, I met my fiancé and his family there. We’re looking forward to a special 2016 at Basin Harbor

Food & Wine Events
Being invited to cook at the James Beard House in New York City is a
high honor for any chef. This January, Chef Christian Kruse joined the
ranks of those chosen.
It is such an honor and privilege that I get to represent Vermont and my culinary
vision at the JBH. I’m so grateful that the owners at Basin Harbor have allowed
me to be creative and discover my own style of cuisine. It’s been exciting both for
me as a chef and the resort as a food destination. I’m looking forward to making
my team proud of the menu and joining the other great chefs before me.
He will be sharing that dinner here on May 18 to kick off the 2016 Wine Pairing Dinners.
Our intimate, six-course dinners provide the perfect setting for a special date night or evening
out with close friends. Chef Kruse and our Wine Director, Joss Vandal, collaborate to pair
dishes that spotlight the best locally sourced ingredients with wine from our award-winning

Love Our Lake
As the only resort on scenic Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor Club
overflows with boating, fishing, and splash-happy recreational activities.
The EScape excursion boat hosts sunset wine tastings, lobster dinners, mixology
classes, fishing trips, history tours, and ROV-enabled views of historic shipwrecks.
Take the helm in a pontoon boat or power boat. Explore nature by paddling
along the Vermont and New York shoreline in a canoe like Native Americans

area is difficult. But I am glad we found it. BHC is, somehow, at once genuine,

be able to sail on Lake Champlain in the morning, play 18 holes in the afternoon,
