Homemade goodies add to the festivities of any party. 104 KNITTING WITHOUT NEEDLES Workshop Leader: Maggie Blanchard Forget the needles, skip complicated patterns, take this class to learn a new way to make scarves, blankets, and many other projects. Participants will learn how to make a scarf. This is a fun craft to learn and teach your Girl Scouts. 105 CEREMONIES Workshop Leader: Karen Alfson Find your place as we take a well-traveled path in performing some standard ceremonies. Then brace yourself as we take off on a new path that shows you the parts of a ceremony and allows you to create your own. You’ll be able to help your girls celebrate all the things they do. 106 FLOWERS – JUNIOR NATURALIST Workshop Leader: Sheila Otteson Flowers are so beautiful. We bring them into our homes to add cheer to a room. But there’s more to flowers than just good looks. Without them, plants could not make seeds, and scientists think the world would be much drier (and a lot less pretty). We will learn about the history of SWAPS, Swapping etiquette, and collecting. As they explore today’s media, they may re-write hurtful song lyrics, start a blog about movies, or use social media to combat stereotypes. 404 SURVIVOR Workshop Leader: Joelle Blanchard The Girl Scout Motto is “Be Prepared” so why not have some fun and learn some survival tips too? Learn to make a bracelet with only 10 feet of rope as well as 10 essentials to take when you go into the wilderness. You never know when you might be stuck somewhere without your cell phone. 405 JUNIOR SOCIAL BUTTERFLY Workshop Leader: Holly Derington 402 PROGRAM IN A BOX-THRILL BUILDERS Workshop Leader: Maggie Blanchard Explore how your troop can use our Program in a Box to make learning about STEM fun. These boxes are available for checkout from the Council office and include all the supplies you will need for your girls. In Thrill Builders, you will explore how girls can engineer their own rides, games and amusement park. Some experiments include making a car, creating a catapult and planning out an amusement park. 403 FOIL ART Have you ever found yourself in a group or place where you didn’t know how to act? It happens to everyone. In this badge, you can help your Juniors practice social style and good manners to make them comfortable in any situation. 406 OH THE PLACES THEY COULD GO… Workshop Leader: Michelle Loyd Are you ready to take off on an adventure? In this class, you will discover travel opportunities for Girl Scouts including Getaways and Destinations. Learn how to prepare your girls for the trip of a lifetime! Workshop Leader: Tina McCallister-Boothe Making foil art is very simple and inexpensive too. Learn to create colorful designs using simple craft supplies you probably have at home. Girls will love making these easy but beautiful masterpieces. 407 MINI GARDENS Workshop Leader: Barbara Hilger Gardening can be loads of fun and quite easy to do with your girls. Using small plants and pebbles you'll create a garden in unusual containers (like thrift store skillets & bowls). Barbara has done this with her troop and others, always with great success.
