 FAQ-­‐ ALUMNI DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (ADP) ALUMNI DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME & WORKSHOPS 1. What is ADP? ADP stands for Alumni Development Programme, a programme specifically tailored for Aidha alumni’s to help them increase their business knowledge and additionally gain hands-­‐
on organizational experience that will improve their leadership skills. 2. What are the criteria for joining the programme? To join the programme, you will have to (1) submitted your business plan to your mentor by session 18 (2) no outstanding payments (3) fulfil the minimum 14 days of M2 attendance – basically the same requirements for graduation. 3. Do I have to graduate first before joining? No, for as long as you fulfil the 3 criteria described in #2, you can sign up. 4. Do we need to attend all 6 workshops? No. If you are non-­‐members, you can attend any workshops except the “Big Pitch” (this is exclusively for members only with pre-­‐requisite of 4 workshops). The fee for non-­‐members is $15/workshop. 5. How do I get the Aidha Reference Letter? You get the Aidha reference letter once you have completed at least 4 workshops + 1 ALP (total of 5 stamps collected). 6. If we don’t do the ‘shark tank’ but have 4 stamps + 1 ALP, do we still get the reference letter? Yes, you will still get the reference letter, nevertheless you will miss out on the investor/mentoring potential of the ‘shark tank’. 7. Do we have to attend the Big Pitch (BP Challenge) workshop? No, it’s not compulsory. But if you do, you must at least have completed 4 workshops (including the communication skills workshop). 8. How long are the individual workshops? It’s average of 3 hrs long and held once/month from Jan’15 onwards. 9. What kinds of workshops are offered? Workshops on offer are business-­‐related topics: business plans, marketing/research, finance and communications skills. It can be each be taken individually or as part of the pre-­‐
requisite to join the ‘Big Pitch’ held in June, 2015. 10. When does the programme starts? The official launch and orientation is on Jan 11th, open for all alumni’s. The 1st cycle (pilot) of this workshop starts on Jan 25th-­‐ June, 2015. The next cycle will begin in July, 2015-­‐ Dec,2015). 11. When do the workshops commence? It is scheduled for 3rd and 4th weeks of the month, starting from Jan 25th. The 1st cycle of the programme runs until December, 2015. 12. How would you know we have completed a workshop? We will give you a membership card where there will be stamped at the back indicating your attendance to a workshop. We will also have a database for workshop attendance tracking. 13. How do I get the stamp? You can get a stamp at the end of each workshops in your class. 14. Who conducts the workshop? The various workshops will be conducted by different professional volunteers with some experience in entrepreneurship. ALUMNI LEADERS PROGRAMME (ALP) 15. What is ALP? ALP stands for Alumni Leadership Programme, it is part of ADP and it provides alumni’s with various programmes on campus that gives an opportunity for hands-­‐on organisational and leadership experience. 16. What kinds of programmes do ALP offer? ALP offers volunteering programmes where alumni’s are given the option to choose from a variety of opportunities: -­‐ Adopt-­‐a-­‐batch -­‐ CW volunteer -­‐ Adopt-­‐a-­‐student -­‐ Ad Hoc projects 17. What is Adopt-­‐a-­‐batch? A volunteer who will help new students adjust to the new campus and become a liaison between the students and the Deputy Campus Manager. 18. What is CW volunteer? A volunteer to help mentors/coach in CW in setting up class and help students during class. This will help prepare volunteers who are interested to become trainees with their computer skills. 19. What is Adopt-­‐a-­‐Student? A volunteer to help mentor a student on a one-­‐on-­‐one basis. 20. What is Ad-­‐Hoc projects? It is an opportunity for alumni’s to be involved with Aidha’s various projects, such as the yearly graduation, Sunday Funday, outreach events or Open House among others. 21. When does the Campus Volunteer Programme starts? It starts on Feb 1st when the new batches are starting. 22. When does the campus trainee programme start? It can start anytime you have completed the 5 months as Campus Volunteer Programme. 23. How long is the duration of Campus Volunteer Programme? It’s for 5 months to give ample time for you to learn and grow in your roles. 24. How long is the duration of Campus Trainee Programme? It’s for 5 months to give ample time for you to learn and grown in your roles. 25.

Can we join the Campus Trainee Programme without joining the Campus Volunteer Programme? No, point of entry for the ALP is through the Campus Volunteer Programme. Why can’t we join the Trainee Programme without doing the Volunteer Programme? The trainee programme requires high commitment and is at the front line of Aidha operations. We take this programme very seriously and would only accept those who are seriously committed with ambition to learn. Is the Trainee Programme compulsory? No, you may take the Volunteer programme on its own and still get 1 stamp which allows you to be eligible for the ‘Big Pitch’ + reference letter. What is Media/Comm’s Programme about? This program gives opportunity for alumni’s to sharpen their presentation skills by being speakers at our various functions and become our ambassadors. Can we join the Media/Comm’s Programme without going through the Volunteer programme? No, the only entry to ALP is through the Volunteer programme first. Only after completing the 5 months volunteering role can you sign up for the Media/Comm’s Programme. Why can’t I join the Media/Comm’s programme without going through the Volunteer Programme? This programme will require alumni’s to interact with external parties and promote Aidha. This program requires in-­‐depth knowledge of our programs as well as the leadership skills you can attain from the Trainee Programme. Do we need to complete the Leadership Programme in order to join the “Big Pitch”? No, you will only need to sign up and participated in the workshops in order to be eligible for the Big Pitch (+4 workshops). Can the Campus Volunteer/Trainee Programme be taken at the same time of the workshops? Yes, the workshops are only held once/month, so you are free to arrange your own schedule to accommodate any Alumni Leadership Programme. Do we need to become members to join the ALP? Yes, the ALP is open for Alumni members only. FEES/MEMBERSHIP 34. What is the cost/fee for members? It’s $50 flat fee, paid up front, valid for 1 year since date of issue. 35. What is the cost/fee for each workshop? It’s $15/workshop. 36. What are the benefits for members? When you are a member, you are free to attend all workshops at a lower fee and you are free to join the ALP (Alumni Leaders Programme) which gives hands on organizational experience. As a member, you are also open to join the “Big Pitch” workshop which gives alumni’s a chance to get potential investor/mentoring, as well as Aidha Reference Letter. 37. Do we need to become members to join the workshops? No, workshops can be taken at an ad-­‐hoc basis at $15/workshop. 38. How to sign up as a member? There will be registrations open at Graduation on Nov 30th 2014, and at the orientation on Jan 11th 2015. After Jan 11th, you can sign up on campus every Sundays at the Marketing desk. 39. Will we get membership cards? Yes, upon registering and paying the full fee you will receive your membership card. 40. How long is the membership card valid for? It will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue. 41. If we register before the 1st cycle of programmes, can we still attend workshops for the 2nd cycle for free? Yes, for as long as the workshop is within the year of membership card validity, you may join any workshops you want. 42. What if I lose my card? Card replacement fee is $10. 43. If I lose my card, will I lose my collected stamps?
