Anti-Imperialist: Criticisms: Wilson was accused of only wanting his idealism applied in European territory under the controll of US rivals. Leads to unnecessary military intervention. European Reaction: People generally welcomed US intervention in the peace process. However, the Allied Leaders were very skeptical! British Opposed the Freedom of the Seas... Why? French demanded Reparations. Did Wilson's ideas become reality in the Treaty of Versailles??? US Senate Reaction: The silly thing called the Constitution.... Senate Republicans led by Henry Cabot Lodge refused ratification the the Treaty of Versailles, thus never participating in the LON. They did not want to commit US troops into global conflicts
