Confused about what “Oregon Quadrant” means?
When OSCS requests your quadrant, we are looking for what general region
of Oregon the field is in. We are not looking for the section quadrant per the
Public Land Survey, nor do we need the section quarter. Here’s a map to
help you identify which “quadrant” of Oregon your field is in:
Another way to think of this situation: If the field’s township is “north” and
the field’s range is “east,” then the field would be in the NE quadrant of
Oregon. The section may be SE, SW, etc., regardless of the Oregon
quadrant, and we do not need to know the section letters (we DO need the
section numbers though!).
And yet one more way to see things: If your field is located in township 5 S,
range 3 W, section 32, the Oregon quadrant is SW.
