The Academic Senate of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (hereinafter
referred to as “STU”), in accordance with Sec. 9 (1)(b) in conjunction with Sec. 15 (1)(i) of Act
No. 131/2002 Coll. on Universities and on amendments and supplements to certain laws, as
amended (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”) and in accordance with Art. 13 (7) of the
Internal Regulation of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava No. 8/2013, dated 29
October 2013 "Scholarship Regulations of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava”,
approved at its meeting held on 10 April 2017 the following Internal Regulation of STU:
Amendment No. 2
to the Internal Regulation of STU No. 8/2013, dated 29 October 2013
SCHOLARSHIP REGULATIONS
OF THE SLOVAK UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY IN BRATISLAVA
Article 1
1.
In Article 1 paragraph 5 insert a comma after the word “otherwise”.
2.
In Article 1 paragraph 6 replace the period at the end of the fifth sentence with a
semicolon and thereafter add the words:
"without prejudice to the provisions of Act No. 305/2013 Coll. on electronic exercise
of the scope of powers vested in public authorities and on amendment of some laws
(e-Government Act), as amended, governing official electronic communications.”.
3.
In Article 1 paragraph 7 replace at the end the words “Study Regulations of STU” with
the words “Study Regulations of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, as
amended”.
4.
In Article 3 paragraph 3 insert a second and third sentence after the first sentence:
“The number of students and amount of scholarships relative (in percent) to the basic
amount provided in Par. 5 of this Article may be differentiated according to the level of
higher education, the study field, the study program or the year of study, and likewise
with the aim to motivate students more to study in individual study programs. Details
will be decided by the faculties in their own Scholarship Regulations.”.

In Article 3 paragraph 4 add after the words “of the basic amount” in the second
sentence the words “referred to in Par. 6 of this Article”.

In Article 4 paragraph 2 replace the words “which do not include the results from the
school-leaving examination” with the words “whereas a faculty establishes other facts

in its own Scholarship Regulations to be decisive for assessment of a claim to be
awarded Incentive Specialization Scholarship”.
7.
In Article 4 paragraph 3 insert a second and third sentence after the first sentence:
“The provisions of the first sentence of this paragraph shall not apply to students of
engineer´s, master´s or doctoral study programs studying in the first year thereof
subsequent to having changed the study program within STU, where students were
enrolled in the next year of study in the initial study program. Consideration shall be
given for the purpose of awarding the Incentive Specialization Scholarship to students
referred to in the second sentence of this paragraph, to such study in the initial study
programs, proceeding either pursuant to Par. 4 of this Article or, in the case of
students in doctoral study programs, pursuant to Par. 7 of this Article”.
8.
In Article 4 paragraph 10 replace the word “one-time” with the word “lump-sum”.
9.
In Article 5 paragraph 9 replace the word “one-time” with the word “lump-sum”.
10.
In Article 8 paragraph 1 replace the word “one-time” with the word “lump-sum”.
11.
In Article 8 paragraph 2 insert (f) after (e):
“f) special scholarship to support study at STU;”.
(f) and (g) become (g) and (h).
12.
In Article 8 paragraph 2 (h) shall read as follows:
“h) other special scholarships not contrary with Par. 1 of this Article;”.
13.
In Article 13 paragraph 4 insert in the second sentence after the word “under” the
words “Art. 3 Par. 3; and after the words “Art. 3 Par. 4,“ insert the words “Art. 4 Par.
2;“.
Article 2
1.
Amendment No. 2 to the Internal Regulation of STU No. 8/2013, dated 29 October
2013, "Scholarship Regulations of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava”,
was approved by the Academic Senate of STU on 10 April 2017.
2.
Amendment No. 2 to the Internal Regulation of STU No. 8/2013, dated 29 October
2013, "Scholarship Regulations of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava”,
comes into force on the date of its approval by the Academic Senate of STU and enters
into effect on 1 May 2017.

The original of the signed Internal Regulation of STU No. 2/2017 “Amendment No. 2 to the Internal
Regulation No. 8/2013 Scholarship Regulations of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava” in the
Slovak language shall be placed and made available for viewing at the Legal and Aministration Department of
the Rector´s Office of STU.
