Research Assistant
Job Summary and Responsibilities
You will join a highly dedicated team responsible for the development of a
DNA analysis platform based on CMOS semiconductor technology. You will
be working for the Molecular Biology platform, including aspects of
enzymology, biochemistry, and sample preparation. You will liaise with
colleagues from a variety of disciplines including electronic engineering,
microfluidics, and industrial design. Your work will dovetail directly with a
team of other molecular biologists and biochemists, entailing extensive
communication with talented and passionate colleagues and external
suppliers. You may also participate in the running of clinical validation
studies. Your role will impact strongly on architectural choices, experimental
design and execution of experiments. You should have a practical, goalorientated approach to your responsibilities, as well as the ability to think
creatively, brainstorm and develop new ideas.
Qualifications and experience
Experience with working in the industry is required, including working on
projects towards deadlines and tangible deliverables. You will have industry
experience in developing or working with DNA detection/sequencing
technology along with a clear track record for practical, milestone-driven
and commercial-leaning work.
You should have an appropriate educational qualification such as a
bachelor or Master’s degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or
biotechnology or equivalent.

Primer/probe design and qualification

Experience with planning and managing your own experiments

Good laboratory practice and Good Document practise

RT-PCR in digital PCR scale

Experience with development for Molecular POC device development

Location
DNA Electronics headquarters is based in West London at Shepherd’s
Bush/White City London, UK. Set in the city’s thriving West-End, DNAe’s
offices are located in the modern and heavily re-developed area near the
former BBC Television centre, located at the confluence of a key arterial
route out of central London (the A4) with several local feeder roads and a
bridge over the Thames.
Located a short walk from the nearest tube station (Wood Lane or White
City), the offices are easily accessed from the main rail links of Paddington
station at 10 minutes tube ride and Kings Cross station at 25 minutes tube
ride.
