Personal Appearance and
Accessories
SOLID BLUE, RED OR STRIPED

• Belts (Grades 3 – 5): Belts
must be worn at all times
with pants, shorts and skorts
that have belt loops.
• Jewelry/Accessories: Must
not pose a threat to health or
safety and must not be
distractive.
• Head attire: Kerchiefs,
caps, hats, bandanas,
scarves, and similar items are
not permitted, except for
religious reasons.

• Rolling Backpacks: Students
are not permitted to have
backpacks with wheels at any
grade level. However, students
with certain medical conditions
are exempt from this policy. The
parent must provide the school
with a doctor’s note stating the
specific illness or condition that
requires the student to use a
rolling backpack. This note must
be renewed annually.
• Hair: Spray painting or
dying hair to an unnatural
hair color, and/or distractive
style is prohibited.
• Sunglasses: Sunglasses
may not be worn indoors
unless a doctor’s note is on
file.
• Backpacks: Backpacks are
permitted at every grade
level and must be neat
and organized at all times.

Shirts
• Type: Students must wear knit
polo shirts with the FAU logo
offered by Runner’s Edge.
• Color: Students may wear
solid blue, solid white, or solid
red. Navy & white striped will be
allowed for the 2016-2017
school year only.
• Type prohibited: Shorts,
skorts and skirts must not be
rolled down at the waist
and/or rolled up at the hem
line, and must be within 2
inches of the knee.
• Type: Students must wear a
uniform-styled jumper with
an FAU uniform shirt.
• Color: Students may wear
solid navy or solid khaki.
Pants, Shorts, Skorts, Skirts
Shoes & Socks
• Type: Students must wear
uniform styled pants, shorts,
skorts, and skirts offered by
uniform vendors.
• Type: Students must wear
closed toe and closed back
shoes.
• Presentation: Shirts must not
be faded, frayed or have holes
and must be appropriately sized
and securely fastened at the
waist.

Sweatshirts and any other overgarments must be red, blue or
white and, if branded, may not
display any logos other than
that of FAU.
Jumper (K - 2 Only)
• Presentation: Shirts must be
tucked in at all times, not faded,

navy are acceptable colors.
Sweatshirts & Cardigans
• Type prohibited: Shoes

flip-flops, and crocs are not

not permitted.

• Shirts: Any school-related
shirt (i.e. Volleyball, Earth Day,
FAU, etc.) is permitted or shirt
must abide by the uniform
guidelines.
• Shirts prohibited: Any shirt
that is backless, tube top,
tank top with less than three
fingers wide straps, bare
midriff, advertising or
promoting gangs, sex, drugs
or alcohol, or with indecent,
offensive or suggestive
wording.
Appropriate dress attire will be
determined by instructor and
administration.
• Type Prohibited: Students are
not permitted to wear PE and
non-school related shirts.
• Regular uniform bottoms
• Skorts, Shorts, Skirts and
Shoes: Must abide by the
uniform guidelines.
• Pants: Pants permitted
include jeans or must abide
by the uniform guidelines.
