Every week, close to 80 roro vessels and 20 container ships depart from the Port of Gothenburg. Send your export freight to Gothenburg and we will meet your transshipment needs for the wider world. EUROPE AND THE MEDITERRANEAN We have an unrivalled range of services to Europe with frequent scheduled departures. A few examples: England – more than 15 weekly departures with both ro-ro and container vessels. Immingham, Southampton and Felixstowe are some of the ports easily accessed from Gothenburg. Germany – about 20 departures per week. Daily departures to ports such as Kiel, Hamburg and Bremerhaven. Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium – daily departures. Regular scheduled departures to Fredrikshamn, Rotterdam, Ghent, Zeebrugge and Antwerp, for example. Spain and Portugal – connections to several ports every week, such as Bilbao, Gijon and Lisbon. Turkey, Italy and Greece – several shipping lines offer excellent direct routes or with transshipment en route. INDIA, CHINA, SOUTH KOREA AND JAPAN Being able to offer direct connections to Asia has been the Port of Gothenburg’s niche since the 1700s. Today, several shipping lines offer the Swedish forest industry quick, cost-effective transport to this substantial market. India – direct connection to Nhava Sheva. China, Singapore and Malaysia – every week container vessels depart for several of China’s major ports, such as Yantian and Hong Kong. En route, some vessels also call at ports in Singapore and Malaysia. NORTH AMERICA South Korea – regular direct connections to Busan, South Korea’s largest port. There is also a transshipment port for Japan. There are direct connections to Canada and the United States every week from Gothenburg. Examples of ports within our reach are Halifax in Canada, and Baltimore, New York and Norfolk on the east coast of the USA. In addition, there are several shipping lines that offer excellent, reliable transport across the Atlantic with one single transshipment en route. Japan – there are several shipping lines that offer transport to Japan from Gothenburg. NORTH AFRICA SOUTH AMERICA Brazil, Argentina and other South American countries are also serviced from Gothenburg via a regular feeder system to the major ports on that continent. Container vessels depart each week from Gothenburg for direct destinations such as Casablanca and Agadir, for example. Swedish forest products are increasingly in demand by countries in the Middle East and the Red Sea area. They connect the Port of Gothenburg with over 25 locations throughout Sweden, and are already being utilised by several companies within the forestry industry. However, container shuttles are just part of the port’s total rail offering. For those who prefer to utilise conventional freight wagons, new train solutions are also available. NEW TRANSSHIPMENT OPTIONS The Port of Gothenburg has a number of dedicated and sheltered terminals for speedy, efficient transshipment of paper and pulp. More recently, these terminals have been supplemented with terminals for sawn timber. This means you can now decide how you would like your freight transported to the port: container train or conventional freight wagons, truck or trailer train.
