NAGR Urges Legislature to Override Nixon’s Anti-Gun Veto
The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) is drumming up support from Second
Amendment supporters in Missouri to override Governor Jay Nixon’s veto of the Second
Amendment Preservation Act, HB 436.
The Missouri Legislature will convene in early September to decide the fate of HB-436. If
enacted, it would offer Missourians protections against the Federal government’s efforts to
impose new or existing unconstitutional infringements on their Second Amendment rights.
Using an aggressive mix of direct mail, email, social media, web ads and phone calls, NAGR will
reach the hundreds of thousands of Missourians worried that Nixon’s veto will stand, opening
the door for the Obama administration to sidestep Congress and allow existing and future
legislation to be imposed in Missouri without the consent of the State.
“NAGR will not stand on the sidelines and let Governor Nixon get a pass on his anti-freedom,
anti-gun agenda,” said Dudley Brown, Executive Vice President of the National Association for
Gun Rights. “We are seeing states ramming radical, anti-Second Amendment agendas down
the throats of the public all over the country, often at the request of national anti-gun interest
groups. It is times like these where we step in and mobilize local residents to stand up for their
Constitutional rights.”
With more than 3 million members and supporters, the National Association for Gun Rights is
America’s fastest-growing and most effective grassroots gun rights organization.
